We're With Betsy Williams
November is not only a month to recognize our incredible Veterans, it is also a moment to honor those military families who stand alongside their service members. Military children and spouses face unique challenges including frequent moves, re-establishing networks, celebrating holidays without loved ones and more.
Military spouse, Betsy Williams, lives with her family on the beautiful island of Guam. Her children enjoy activities like learning about the Chamoru village and playing in the USO game room. Betsy enjoys USO programs like Coffee Connections, programs for military children, and utilizing center amenities. She shared, “I am always greeted with a smile and a friendly face when I walk in to the USO; it never gets old. It is always comforting to know we have a place to turn if we ever need it.”
USO Guam has planned programs for every member of the military family; including Zumba, Coffee Connections, Toddler Social, and of course USO Holidays. Our mission partners at Enterprise Rent-A-Car believe in the importance of connecting people with what matters most. The Founder of Enterprise Mobility, Jack Taylor served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. The Taylor family continues to lead this business and upholds a deep commitment to honoring those who serve. This is why the employees of Enterprise franchise partners work with the USO frequently in both Guam and Korea. During National Military Appreciation month, you can find the Enterprise Guam team handing out Thanksgiving favorites at USO Tumon Bay. Families like Betsy’s who are thousands of miles from their loved ones CONUS can find comfort and community at the USO.
The USO in Guam operates three locations including USO Naval Base Guam at Camp Covington in Santa Rita, USO Andersen at Andersen Air Force Base and USO Tumon Bay. For more information, visit USO.org.
